What Pat Will Do as a Speaker for Your Group...
TO PREPARE FOR THE PRESENTATION ...
I will know and understand what your organization does, why it does it, and why I am there. I will have a specific plan to accomplish your goals with my presentation. I will know the theme of your meeting and understand why your people will want to hear my speech. My entire presentation will relate to your theme, your organization, and its goals and people. I will coordinate with your meeting planners, other speakers or the speaker’s bureau to assure success for your meeting.
AT THE MEETING SITE, BEFORE THE PRESENTATION ...
I will notify you soon as I arrive on site and contact you immediately should any serious delays occur. I will leave with sufficient margin to arrive ahead of time. I will be accessible to you at all times. I will retire early the night before my speech and be reasonable and considerate in my use of room charges and incidental expenses. The day of my speech, I will be at my professional best. I will be in the meeting room for sound checks at least an hour before I speak and I will coordinate with the set-up crew and other presenters. If appropriate, I will make suggestions to the crew as to how to maximize audience impact through creative use of lights, sound and stage. I will be dressed appropriately, always one notch more formal or business-like than the audience. I will stay out of the way until it is my turn to speak. I will provide a brief, easy introduction and be available to coach my introducer. I will be seated in the room, visible to you, well before my introduction begins.
DURING THE PRESENTATION ...
I will deliver an exceptionally good, entertaining and informative presentation in a highly professional manner. I will walk on stage cheerfully and my speech will open with energy and purpose. I will interact constantly with the audience, involving them through questions, show of hands, eye contact and appropriate exercises. My material will always be well researched, accurate and profound. I will use humor and stories liberally, as well as appropriate slides or video clips to enhance the audience’s experience. I will scrupulously stick to the requested time frame. I will have the ability to make last minute changes, if needed, to help you handle sudden problems, like another speaker being delayed or canceling. I will allow questions and comments from the audience and never be rude. I will react maturely, good-naturedly, and flexibly to any problems that may arise including audio, visuals, lights or emergencies. I will summarize my points and give ways to remember my key points. I will always relate my points and handouts to your organization and people. I will never abuse my engagement by using the platform for a sales pitch. I will only offer my books, recordings and special reports if previously approved or requested in advance.
AFTER THE PRESENTATION ...
I will stay around after my speech to answer questions or help fill any needs you may have. I will check out and depart with no effort to you, itemize my expenses, provide receipts and bill you promptly after the presentation. I will be willing to accept personal phone calls or emails to follow-ups on the speech from individual audience members or executives. I will send each audience member a copy of my email newsletter if desired. I will suggest strategies to continue the impact of my presentation during follow up and I will make myself available to you to continue those strategies. I will never reveal any sensitive information about your organization.
